It has been 100 years since the Kerala Legislative Assembly Library commenced functioning as a
part of the Kerala Legislative Assembly. The Diwan's Office turned into the Legislative Library in 1921.
When the Travancore-Cochin State was formed in 1949, the Library became the Travancore - Cochin
Assembly Library and was developed as the Kerala Legislative Assembly Library with the formation of
Kerala State in 1956. The distintiveness of this Library is that the Kerala Legislative Assembly has a
possession of over 1,15,000 books.

Message from Hon’ble Deputy Speaker
The Kerala Legislative Assembly Library has a history of over a century. The library is celebrating its centenary. You all know the history regarding the Legislative Library. The Legislative Library is a library which has a great collection of precious books. Since this Centenary celebration, the membership of the library, which was limited to members of the Legislative Assembly, is now open to the general public. As a part of Centenary celebration an International Book Festival is being organized from January 09 to 15, 2023.

Message from Secretary
I would like to welcome all of you to the International Book Festival organising by the Kerala Legislative Assembly as part of the Centenary Year of our Niyamasabha Library. Our library has rare collections of books and archival materials organised since the age of princely states. After the formation of the Kerala state the Legislative Assembly has taken care of this library. Now from 1st November 2022 onwards we have opened this library to the public. An international book fair will also be conducted from January 09 to 15, 2013.
