Message from Hon’ble Speaker
It has been 100 years since the Kerala Legislative Assembly Library commenced functioning as a
part of the Kerala Legislative Assembly. The Diwan's Office turned into the Legislative Library in 1921.
When the Travancore-Cochin State was formed in 1949, the Library became the Travancore - Cochin
Assembly Library and was developed as the Kerala Legislative Assembly Library with the formation of
Kerala State in 1956. The distintiveness of this Library is that the Kerala Legislative Assembly has a
possession of over 1,15,000 books.
